History of Racketlon
Racketlon Pioneer
The first pioneer of racketlon was, unknowingly, Fred Perry. His clothing brand continues to be very popular today. In 1929 Perry won the table tennis world championships held in Budapest. In 1934, 1935 and 1936 he won Wimbledon in tennis. In addition to these victories, he added numerous international titles in table tennis as well as grand slams in tennis. Achievments like that are simply unimaginable nowadays.
In 2003 racketlon started on an international level with its first World Tour Events. Leading in the development of racketlon was Sweden when in the early 90s they started organizing national tournaments. But what exactly is racketlon?

Idea
Racketon is the combination of badminton, squash tennis and table tennis and can be played by anyone who's interested in racket sports, no matter if you're an amateur or professional. Very much like in biathlon or triathlon, the purpose of racketlon is the interdisciplinary combination of the most popular racket sports in the world. Players come from all four sports. The spirit of marathon, where professional and amateur athletes compete in the same tournament/race, is one of the central elements of racketlon.
