23. Juni 2010

Nicole Eislers 7.

With not more than 2 weeks until the entry deadline and about 3 weeks before the official start of the Alternate Racketlon Open (27-29. August) the preparations are close to be finished and we are looking forward to a great Racketlon weekend together with you. As done during the Bundesliga and German Championship weekend in November 09 the entire venue will exclusively be reserved for Racketlon players and fans. We will have 3 courts of each sport and a lot of space to play many many games. We have nearly broken the 50 entries mark (some last spots to gain the 5 €off voucher are still available) however planning to welcome at least 100 or more players from everywhere. Most of the squad from the Alternate Linden Racketeers (German Bundesliga champion 2009) has surely already entered as well as nearly the entire line up of the German National Team which will fight for medals in Vienna the week after – therewith the Challenger will be a competitive environment for international top players as well as for any new faces welcoming on the tour in the different classes within this challenger tournament!

New Breed of English Racketlon
05. August 2010
05. August 2010
With less than 3 weeks before the English Open (20-22.8), the entry deadline is imminent on 6th of August. Undoubtedly, because of the popular Austrian Open & WC Teams two weeks later, elite entries have suffered slightly. Not withstanding this, the entry is still as always excellent with an influx of new players to the sport as well as some familiar faces. Certainly, domestic talents Jermaine Manners and Natalie Lawrence can be pointed to as favourites for the title. However, do not bet against other excellent talents like Edward Batson and Sarah Jane-Perry. Of course, like the Premier League transfer window we always expect a www.lastminute.com entry. The most famous of these was Magnus Eliasson in 2006 who entered at 23.59. Not withstanding this, the prize money and podium is open to a bigger range of players than ever before. For the domestic fraternity, we will be most proud if once again a British player captures the title. Doug Struthers defeated Marcel Weigl in the final of 2004 and Calum Reid beat Stefan Adamsson in a famous final in 2005, also named The Reid Awakening. Neither Calum or Douglas for different reasons are thought to be at the event this year.

Hi All, you are probably looking forward to a great month of sport. There are a few racketlon events coming up over the summer. So if your like me, you might be conscious that a few pizzas or beers (or in the case of Ray Jordan) add a few kebabs as well, you may not be in "bikini" shape come the end of these events. Several visits to the pub later, you may fancy a game of squash, maybe even tennis or badminton, lets start slowly though build up to it with a gentle game of ping pong, remember ping pong is hot again! So basically the PLANANCY English Open is from 20-22 August, it is an International World Tour Event and there is even talk of a bit of television footage. Hopefully see you there.
